Meadowsweet
~Filipendula ulmaria
This incredible herb isn't used as much in American herbalism but has a long tradition in England. And its one of the most sacred herbs of the druids
Culpepper, a well-known English physician, botanist, and astrologer from the 17th century, states that this plant will give you a merry heart. 💖
This plant has a way of uplifting your heart. And the tincture tastes sweet. ✨️ 🌿
Meadowsweet is also a well documented pain reliever. You see, it contains a substantial amount of salicylates, which are compounds chemically similar to aspirin and are responsible for its anti-inflammatory and pain-relieving properties. However, unlike aspirin, meadowsweet's other compounds like tannins may help protect the stomach lining, and the plant is used to treat pain, fever, and gastrointestinal issues, including infant diarrhea. It is particularly good for joint and rheumatic pain as well as headaches.
Tonifying meadowsweet also has diuretic properties and is an antacid herb.
We will never tire of learning about the many amazing gifts that nature has to share with us. Being eternally inspired and grateful for their selflessness and ability to bring us humans back into balance. ✨️
