Egyptian Queen Cleopatra was widely known for the beauty of her skin, that she religiously nursed with rosewater. She loved roses so much that she would fill her chambers with rose petals before visits from Marc Antony, ensuring that he would think of her every time he smelled one. Cleopatra even soaked her ships’ sails in rose water before traveling to ensure the scent followed her wherever she went!
