Avena sativa, called oat, oats, green oat, or milky oat, is native to Europe, the Mediterranean, North Africa, and northern Central Asia, and is cultivated and used throughout the world.
All aboveground parts of the plant are used, but the grain, in its green or "milky" stage, is used for anxiety, stress, depression, mental exhaustion, bladder weakness, issues of the heart, and as a rejuvenative tonic and restorative. They simply deeply nourish, rebuild, and restore depleted nervous systems and also contain B-complex vitamins, calcium, magnesium, and silica.
